Senior Software Engineer Backend (PHP)

Location: Hybrid, based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Candidates must be based in the Netherlands, hold an EU passport, or already have a valid visa to work in the Netherlands. Relocation support is not provided.

Salary: €53,000–€97,500 per year

What you will do

• Build and improve backend services and APIs powering the ticket marketplace.
• Develop product features for web and mobile users, including ticket file support and event creation flows.
• Scale and maintain a reliable, secure, and high-performing platform.
• Contribute to event-driven architecture and asynchronous systems.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers across disciplines.
• Write tested, maintainable code, participate in code reviews, and improve developer tooling and platform reliability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Strong PHP experience and proficiency with relational databases such as MySQL.
• Experience with Git and modern development workflows.
• Commitment to code quality, testing, and maintainability.
• Enjoyment of solving user problems and collaborating in cross-functional teams.
• Based in the Netherlands, an EU passport, or a valid visa to work in the Netherlands is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Symfony.
• Experience with React, mobile development, AWS, Kubernetes, or DevOps tooling.
