Data Engineer - Sr. Consultant level (Fintech)

Location: Bellevue, Washington, United States; hybrid with at least 3 days in the office

Salary: $152,200–$243,700 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Design and evolve the data platform for reliability, cost efficiency, and scalability.
• Build and optimize high-performance batch and streaming data services and pipelines.
• Support production file- and event-based systems through monitoring, incident response, on-call participation, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in code and design reviews, applying testing, security, and observability best practices.
• Collaborate with partner teams and internal customers to deliver end-to-end data products.
• Reduce technical debt and simplify systems through clean interfaces and consistent patterns.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience with an advanced degree or PhD.
• Cloud computing experience, preferably with Azure or AWS, including hybrid designs.
• Proficiency in Golang or Python.
• Strong software engineering background building distributed systems at scale and experience with modern streaming processing.
• Experience with Terraform, Docker, production Kubernetes, and Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
• Strong SQL, observability, reliability, CI/CD, version control, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• 9+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience with an advanced degree or PhD.
• Experience with Grafana, CloudWatch, Git/GitHub, and Codefresh or similar CI/CD tools.
