Portfolio Manager I - Private Banking Commercial Real Estate

Location: In office in Irvine or San Francisco, California, US

Salary: $41.83–$66.81 per hour, plus eligibility for bonus and/or commissions.

What you will do

• Manage an assigned Private Banking Commercial Real Estate credit portfolio, including mini-perm loans for high-net-worth individuals and family offices.
• Underwrite multifamily, retail, industrial, office, self-storage, unsecured, institutional real estate, and construction lending exposures.
• Analyze borrower and guarantor financial statements, tax returns, projections, and cash flow pro formas.
• Prepare credit recommendations, underwriting memorandums, and approval documents for Credit Risk.
• Monitor portfolio performance, risk ratings, reporting covenants, covenant compliance, and quarterly and annual reports.
• Partner with relationship managers, risk teams, sales teams, and clients to deliver credit solutions and support new business.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of progressively increasing credit underwriting and portfolio management experience.
• Foundational understanding of personal financial statements, real estate schedules, and tax returns.
• Basic experience in credit management and lending operations, with a strong understanding of risk management principles.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Basic analytical skills and industry-specific knowledge relevant to credit and lending.
