What you will do

  • Coordinate medication delivery from pharmacy cleanrooms to infusion floors and monitor medication due times.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for nurses, pharmacists, providers, patients, research, and pharmacy operations teams.
  • Clarify medication orders, resolve discrepancies, triage delivery delays, and escalate logistical issues.
  • Support infusion staffing coverage, monitor daily volumes, and assess anticipated medication demand.
  • Coordinate access to outpatient medications and flag patients for research and pharmacokinetic studies.
  • Help implement pharmacy policies, procedures, workflow changes, and medication safety improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited pharmacy college.
  • Five years of hospital pharmacy experience, including at least three years in oncology, or an approved pharmacy residency and oncology experience equivalent.
  • Active license to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Experience evaluating and verifying chemotherapy orders in accordance with oncology pharmacy safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, USP 797, USP 800, Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy, and Department of Public Health standards.
  • Ability to work onsite, handle rotating shifts, manage staffing responsibilities, and respond effectively under tight deadlines.
