Registered Nurse, RN - Cardiovascular, CVOR (Cardiac Operating Room)

Location: Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts; onsite cardiovascular operating room role

Salary: $43.01–$98.89 per hour, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Provide professional nursing care for patients throughout admission, treatment, and discharge.
• Assess patients and families, develop individualized care plans, implement evidence-based interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
• Support complex cardiovascular procedures, including heart transplants and valve and aortic repairs, in a high-acuity operating room environment.
• Administer medications and perform procedures and treatments according to clinical standards and unit guidelines.
• Coordinate care with surgeons, perfusionists, anesthesiologists, nursing colleagues, and other disciplines.
• Participate in patient safety, quality improvement, performance improvement, education, mentoring, and shared governance activities.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS may be required based on the department and care provided.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing and specialty nursing certifications are preferred.
• Ability to provide age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care and respond effectively in emergency and crisis situations.
• Ability to work irregular hours and perform physically demanding duties, including prolonged standing, patient transfers, and exposure to hazardous clinical environments.
