Registered Nurse (MedSurg/Intermediate Care Unit)

Location: Lowell General Hospital, D3 Intermediate Care—Main Campus. Full-time day shift, 36 hours per week; weekend and holiday work required.

Pay range: $37.50–$68.47 per hour, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Provide direct professional nursing care to patients and their families according to established policies, procedures, and physician orders.
• Conduct and document clinical assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Apply nursing judgment, evidence-based practice, and research to changing patient needs.
• Manage patient assignments, delegate appropriately, and coordinate with physicians and the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families, support informed decisions, and develop discharge plans with appropriate referrals.
• Support new staff members, precept colleagues, and participate in professional development and departmental committees.

Requirements

• Massachusetts RN licensure required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Department-specific certifications relevant to the patient population may be required.
• RN experience requirements vary by career pathway level: Level I requires less than 12 months; Level II requires 12 months to less than 3 years; Level III requires 3 to less than 8 years; Level IV requires 8 years.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team.
• Knowledge and application of the nursing process; ability to lift and maneuver patients and work for prolonged periods standing and walking.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
