Laboratory Technician I, Prep, M-F 10 AM - 6:30PM EST

Location: South Plainfield, New Jersey, United States; onsite Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM-6:30 PM EST

Salary: $16.50-$20.50 per hour

What you will do

• Process plasmid DNA preparation orders for internal and external customers.
• Handle bacterial cultures, agar plates, sterile DNA materials, and molecular biology protocols at different scales.
• Operate pipettes, gel electrophoresis equipment, centrifuges, autoclaves, shakers, spectrophotometers, and related laboratory equipment.
• Receive and sort orders, perform QC workflows, package and ship final products, and use LabUI documentation systems.
• Prepare reagents, bacterial media, agar plates, flasks, buffers, and antibiotic solutions.
• Manage inventory, maintain laboratory cleanliness and equipment, document reagent generation and safety checks, and follow SOPs.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least one year of work experience required; hands-on laboratory experience preferred.
• Experience with basic laboratory equipment, pipettes, sterilization or autoclaving, vacuum filtration, and pH meters is preferred.
• Strong recordkeeping, attention to detail, and ability to follow standard operating procedures accurately.
• Ability to work in a team-based, fast-paced laboratory environment and learn new processes.
• Ability to lift more than 35 pounds, stand for extended periods, wear PPE, and work safely with chemicals.
