Aquatics and Outdoor Pursuits Coordinator

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and manage aquatics and outdoor recreation programs, including swimming, water aerobics, camping, biking, hiking, canoeing, and rock climbing.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate approximately 10 or more student employees.
• Plan lifeguard in-service training and maintain procedures that support pool safety and emergency readiness.
• Schedule and coordinate American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, lifeguard, and related certification classes.
• Manage training supplies, participant records, certification cards, registrations, and payments.
• Allocate program funding, review budget transactions, and assess program effectiveness and student satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least three years of related campus recreation experience, including supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications, equipment maintenance, and program development.
• Strong multitasking, collaboration, customer service, assessment, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
• Relevant certifications include American Red Cross Adult CPR and AED, First Aid, Lifeguard Instructor, Safety Instructor, and applicable aquatics or outdoor recreation certifications; required credentials must be held or obtained as specified.
• Availability for work beyond normal office hours, weekends, and travel is required.
