Residence Life Coordinator

Location: Texarkana, Texas; live-on position requiring primary residence in assigned on-campus housing. Evening and weekend availability is required as operational needs dictate.

Salary: $3,416.66 monthly minimum; expected salary of $41,000 annually.

What you will do

• Build an engaging residential community that supports student involvement, personal development, and academic success.
• Design and assess educational and social programming using community trends and residential curriculum data.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate Resident Assistants and student employees.
• Manage daily housing operations, including occupancy transitions, check-ins, check-outs, move-in, move-out, room changes, summer housing, and conferences.
• Monitor facilities, coordinate maintenance and safety concerns, and conduct health, safety, and risk-management inspections.
• Respond to student crises and emergencies, address conduct matters, document incidents, and serve as a Campus Security Authority for Clery reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least one year of related experience.
• Knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, multitasking, and collaboration skills.
• Primary residence in assigned on-campus housing is required, along with participation in the university meal plan.
• Evening and weekend availability is required as operational needs dictate.

Nice to have

• University or college housing experience, including residence assistant or graduate assistant experience.
• Master’s degree in student personnel, higher education, counseling, or a related field.
• Professional residence life experience and experience supervising staff or managing residence hall operations.
• Experience facilitating student development programming and working with diverse student populations.
