Analytics Leadership Development Program (ALDP) Summer Internship (Data Science)

Location: Hybrid in Bloomfield, Connecticut; interns must work in the Bloomfield office at least three days per week.

Compensation: $33.00–$40.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Develop predictive models to identify customers who may benefit from clinical or support programs.
• Apply machine learning to segment populations and support personalized engagement strategies.
• Analyze medical cost trends and recommend data-driven mitigation strategies.
• Measure business initiative impact using experimental and quasi-experimental methods.
• Model the financial impact of provider contract and healthcare delivery changes.
• Communicate analytical insights to technical and non-technical audiences while working with an analytics team and experienced mentors.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, analytics, or a related quantitative field.
• Hands-on experience with analytics, data science, statistics, or quantitative modeling through internships, research, employment, contract work, or applied academic projects.
• Programming experience in Python or R and experience building, evaluating, or interpreting statistical or analytical models.
• Knowledge of hypothesis testing, experimental design, A/B testing, SQL, relational data, and foundational machine learning concepts.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, collaboration, leadership-development, and communication skills.
• Available to work 40 hours per week for the full 12-week program and eligible to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship, including H-1B, CPT, OPT, or STEM sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Exposure to scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or large language models.
• Experience with causal analysis, matched case-control analysis, or advanced experimental methods.
• Experience working with large or complex datasets, including data cleaning and feature engineering.
• Familiarity with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Python visualization libraries.
• Interest in applying analytics in healthcare, insurance, or other regulated industries.
