Senior Physicist (m/f/d) - for semiconductor industry

Location: Heimstetten, Germany; onsite role with approximately 10% travel. Relocation eligible.

Salary: €84,800–€116,600 per year, with potential bonus and stock award participation.

What you will do

• Develop concepts and technological foundations for next-generation electron beam systems.
• Integrate emerging technologies to improve eBeam product performance and support the long-term technology roadmap.
• Analyze and optimize electron optical systems through simulation, mathematical modelling, and numerical methods.
• Conduct feasibility studies, prototype development, and experimental testing in laboratory and cleanroom environments.
• Lead cross-functional development projects and collaborations with industry partners and academic research institutions.
• Evaluate research trends, identify technology opportunities and risks, and support invention disclosures and patent coordination.

Requirements

• PhD or MSc in physics, electrical engineering, materials science, or a related scientific field.
• Experience with simulation, numerical modelling, and strong programming skills in Python or MATLAB.
• Experience developing complex systems from design and simulation through prototyping and testing.
• Knowledge of particle beam systems, electron optics, high-voltage systems, vacuum technology, or emitter technologies is advantageous.
• Experience planning and executing technical projects, with a creative, analytical, results-oriented, and organized working style.
• Fluent English required; intermediate German is advantageous.
