What you will do

• Operate, monitor, and maintain ion-trap quantum computing hardware and experimental systems.
• Perform calibration, optimization, and characterization of quantum hardware, control systems, and experimental procedures.
• Support the development, integration, and testing of new quantum hardware and experimental systems.
• Collect, analyze, and report experimental data for system performance evaluation and troubleshooting.
• Maintain reliable and repeatable system operation by following procedures, documenting results, and solving technical issues.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in AMO physics and at least 2 years of relevant hands-on laboratory experience.
• Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting experimental quantum technologies, preferably trapped-ion, neutral-atom, or other optical-based systems.
• Practical experience with laser and optical systems, RF or microwave control, vacuum systems, or high-precision imaging.
• Understanding of quantum control, state preparation, measurement, and experimental calibration.
• Good data analysis skills and experience with Python or similar programming tools.
• Ability to document and improve experimental procedures and collaborate effectively with physics and engineering teams.

Nice to have

• PhD in physics, quantum technologies, AMO physics, or a related field.
• Experience with surface ion traps and high-vacuum or ultra-high-vacuum systems, including ion pumps and bakeout procedures.
• Experience with automated experimental control, calibration, measurement systems, hardware integration, system testing, or equipment commissioning.
• Familiarity with Git, data management, or laboratory automation tools.
