Legal Counsel (Healthcare IT)

Location: Remote in Australia, with the role based in Melbourne or Adelaide

What you will do

• Lead complex SaaS, software, and partnership negotiations with major healthcare providers from start to finish.
• Advise regional leadership on commercial matters, privacy, data security, and market entry.
• Build the Australian legal function from the ground up as the primary legal advisor for the region.
• Create and refine legal templates, processes, and operating practices that can scale with the business.
• Support business growth by developing practical, commercially focused approaches to legal risk.

Requirements

• Australian-qualified lawyer with a current practising certificate.
• Strong background in corporate and commercial law gained in a leading law firm or in-house legal team.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to use legal advice to support business objectives.
• Ability to work autonomously as the sole legal expert for a fast-growing region.

Nice to have

• Experience in technology, particularly SaaS.
• Experience in healthcare.
