Senior GenAI Engineer (AI)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid with two days per week in the London office

What you will do

• Own AI features end to end, from ambiguous problems to reliable and observable production systems.
• Build retrieval and data foundations for AI features, treating retrieval quality as a core engineering problem.
• Design evaluation, monitoring, safety, and reliability approaches for GenAI systems.
• Build LLM-powered applications and agentic workflows with orchestration, APIs, structured outputs, and data systems.
• Make decisions about models, operating cost, and latency, and document the reasoning behind them.
• Prototype rapidly, productionise reusable patterns, and raise engineering quality through reviews and design feedback.

Requirements

• Experience shipping AI or ML systems used by real users and supporting them in production.
• Strong Python and practical SQL skills for grounding data, golden datasets, and failure analysis.
• Experience with testing, error handling, CI/CD, observability, and MLOps practices.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, retrieval and vector stores, tool-using agents, and structured outputs.
• Experience running AI systems on AWS and GCP.
• Ability to reason about hallucinations, prompt injection, model limitations, and the business impact of technical decisions.
