Product Counsel / Sr Product Counsel, Advertising

Location: United States; headquarters-based roles are in San Mateo, California, with onsite attendance Tuesday through Thursday and optional presence on Monday and Friday.

What you will do

• Advise product, engineering, operations, and leadership teams throughout the product and process development lifecycle.
• Provide legal guidance on advertising products, models, and technologies.
• Assess compliance with US and international advertising, privacy, copyright, online safety, and consumer protection laws.
• Coordinate advice with product, marketing, trust and safety, and internal and external legal counsel.
• Develop internal playbooks, policies, and training for product and engineering teams.
• Monitor legal developments and build expertise in Roblox products while fostering cross-functional relationships.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably combining law firm and in-house work at a consumer-facing technology company.
• Experience advising advertising product teams or research teams building foundation models.
• Strong business judgment with the ability to provide creative, practical, and legally acceptable advice.
• Ability to manage a diverse and complex workload, prioritize effectively, and proactively identify issues.
• Track record of collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders on complex challenges.
• License to practice law in a US jurisdiction.
