Postdoctoral Research Associate in Agricultural, Animal, Rangeland, or Environmental Sciences

What you will do

• Review research on regenerative animal production, CAFO manure management, and carbon–nitrogen cycling.
• Acquire, curate, analyze, and interpret field measurement and environmental-economic datasets for model parameterization and validation.
• Develop and enhance algorithms for carbon and nutrient budgets under different manure housing and management practices.
• Implement new modules and improvements in the APEX agroecosystem simulation model.
• Evaluate carbon–nitrogen cycling dynamics and model performance across dairy, livestock, grazing, and changing environmental scenarios.
• Document model development and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and technical reports.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences, Animal Science, Rangeland Management, Environmental Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
• Record of peer-reviewed publications and experience designing, analyzing, and interpreting field-study data.
• Strong project management, technical writing, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Work onsite in Temple, Texas.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of carbon and nitrogen cycling in farm-scale CAFO operations.
• Experience with process-based models such as EPIC, APEX, RUFAS, BCSM, GLEAM, or similar frameworks.
• Scientific programming experience with Python or Fortran for data processing, model development, and computational analysis.
