hirify.global’s Cooperative Agricultural Research Center and Cooperative Extension Programs conduct agricultural research and support knowledge transfer to producers and other stakeholders.

What you will do

• Conduct applied research on beef cattle production systems, including nutrition, reproduction, genetics, stress physiology, and management.
• Develop and lead an independent, extramurally funded research program focused on livestock production and beef cattle system sustainability.
• Evaluate the economic, environmental, and social impacts of beef cattle production systems and identify opportunities to improve sustainability and profitability.
• Collaborate with researchers, industry partners, and extension agents to design and implement research projects.
• Disseminate findings through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, workshops, and national and international conferences.
• Participate in college-wide events, activities, committees, and related duties; teaching a beef cattle production course with a laboratory may also be available.

Requirements

• PhD in Animal Science or a related discipline.
• At least six years of related beef cattle research experience.
• Technical competence in beef cattle management and current standard cattle-care practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, follow established plans and protocols, multitask, and collaborate effectively.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet applications.
• Knowledge of varied teaching methods and the ability to provide effective learning experiences.
• Supervisory experience.
