Postdoctoral Researcher (CEES)

Research Compliance Office at the Texas A&M University System supports research activities at Prairie View A&M University through the Center for Energy and Environmental Sustainability.

What you will do

• Design, plan, coordinate, and conduct experiments in environmental sustainability research.
• Investigate membrane separation, carbon sequestration and conversion, life-cycle assessment, techno-economic analysis, air quality, climate applications, transportation materials, and sustainable infrastructure.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret findings, troubleshoot equipment, and maintain accurate research records.
• Conduct literature reviews and prepare manuscripts, technical reports, grant reports, and research presentations.
• Develop and submit funding proposals and publish high-quality journal articles.
• Assist and train undergraduate and graduate researchers, laboratory staff, and field staff.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related engineering field.
• Ability to design and conduct experiments, analyze and interpret data, troubleshoot research equipment, and maintain reproducible documentation.
• Knowledge of laboratory operations, equipment maintenance, quality assurance and quality control, and environmental health and safety requirements.
• Proficiency with software for data analysis, scientific visualization, technical writing, literature management, and research presentations.
• Strong scientific writing and oral communication skills, with the ability to prepare manuscripts, proposals, reports, and presentations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively and to train researchers in laboratory procedures, instrument operation, data analysis, and research safety.

Nice to have

• Research experience in membrane separation, water or wastewater treatment, carbon sequestration and conversion, life-cycle assessment, techno-economic analysis, air quality, climate applications, transportation materials, or sustainable infrastructure.
• Experience with FTIR, TGA, XRD, XPS, UV-Vis, AAS, SEM/EDS, BET surface area analyzer, GC-MS, HPLC, or NMR instruments.
• Experience mentoring undergraduate or graduate researchers.
• Knowledge of chemical hygiene, hazardous-material handling, and waste-disposal procedures.
