What you will do

• Define favorable quality characteristics of therapeutic proteins and synthetic molecules.
• Develop and apply sample preparation and analytical methods using chromatography, electrophoresis, and mass spectrometry.
• Characterize quality attributes and chemical modifications including glycosylation, oxidation, deamidation, aspartate isomerization, and hydroxylation.
• Generate accurate, high-quality data for drug development and regulatory filings while maintaining electronic laboratory records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary scientists and independently advance projects within deadlines.
• Contribute to patents, publications, technology programs, and drug development initiatives.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree, or a master’s degree with 2 years of scientific experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 4 years of scientific experience.
• Ph.D. in analytical chemistry or biochemistry with emphasis on mass spectrometry, chromatography, electrophoresis, or another analytical technique.
• Experience with peptide mapping and intact and reduced LC-MS analysis of chemical modifications.
• Experience operating Thermo Q-Exactive and Agilent mass spectrometers, Agilent and Waters HPLC/UHPLC systems, and related data-processing software.
• Knowledge of statistical data processing using Excel, Spotfire, and JMP.
• Strong scientific communication, complex problem-solving, planning, independent execution, collaboration, mentorship, and leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Two or more years of post-Ph.D. experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology process and product development.
• Programming experience with R, Python, C++, or machine learning languages.
• Experience with automation, robotics, or liquid handlers.
