Associate Scientist Discovery Proteomics

What you will do

• Execute and optimize quantitative proteomics workflows for target discovery, proximity labeling, biomarker discovery, and mechanism-of-action studies.
• Prepare samples from cell lines and other biological matrices, including cell-surface protein enrichment and proximity-labeling workflows.
• Perform peptide fractionation, liquid chromatography, and mass spectrometry acquisition using DIA, TMT, label-free DDA, and PRM approaches.
• Operate LC-MS systems across multiple vendor platforms, assess data and instrument quality, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot common issues.
• Process and evaluate proteomic data using Proteome Discoverer, Spectronaut, DIA-NN, or similar tools in collaboration with bioinformatics colleagues.
• Communicate experimental plans and results, collaborate with cross-functional project teams, and maintain accurate laboratory and data-integrity records.

Requirements

• Master’s degree, or a bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of scientific experience, or an associate’s degree plus 4 years of scientific experience, or a high school diploma/GED plus 6 years of scientific experience.
• Degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology, molecular biology, cell biology, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with proteomic sample preparation and the ability to assess data quality and interpret results.
• Ability to evaluate LC-MS performance and troubleshoot routine sample-preparation, chromatography, and instrument issues.
• Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills with attention to reproducible results.

Nice to have

• Experience with protein enrichment methods and diverse biological samples, including tissues, biofluids, and FFPE specimens.
• Experience with automated sample-preparation platforms such as Tecan, Hamilton, Opentrons, or KingFisher.
