Technical Architect

Location: Remote or hybrid in the United Kingdom, subject to company policy. Candidates must have a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK.

What you will do

• Design technical architectures for corporate platforms and customer-facing solutions across on-premise, data centre, and public cloud environments.
• Evaluate architecture options and make evidence-based recommendations balancing functional and non-functional requirements.
• Support delivery teams during implementation through knowledge transfer and hands-on technical assistance.
• Participate in architecture peer reviews and present designs to the Technical Assurance Board.
• Contribute to technology roadmaps and investigate emerging technologies for controlled adoption.
• Collaborate with Security Architects to protect workloads and maintain solution quality.

Requirements

• Experience producing technical architecture designs.
• Strong understanding of compute, networking, storage, virtualisation, and cloud technologies.
• Ability to balance delivery pressures with design quality and long-term sustainability.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK is required.
• Existing SC-or-higher or NPPV Level 3 clearance, or the ability to obtain Enhanced Security Clearance and Baseline Personnel Security Standard clearance, is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in the UK public sector.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or OCI, as well as server virtualisation, networking, and storage.
• Senior engineering experience with readiness to move into a formal architecture role.
