TL;DR
Medical Science Liaison, IgG4 - Rare Disease - UT, AZ (Rare Disease/Medical Affairs): Serving as a scientific liaison to medical and scientific communities while building relationships with clinicians, thought leaders, academic institutions, and healthcare decision-makers across the territory with an accent on scientific communication, clinical research collaboration, and competitive intelligence. Focus on facilitating investigator-initiated and company-sponsored trials, training external speakers, monitoring therapeutic advances, and translating customer needs into medical and health economic insights.

Location: US - Arizona - Phoenix; territory includes Utah and Arizona. Travel up to 60% is required for territory management, conferences, workshops, and company meetings.

Annual salary: USD 156,998.40–212,409.60.

What you will do

  • Build and maintain relationships with medical thought leaders, clinicians, academic institutions, medical directors, managed care decision-makers, and pharmacy directors.
  • Communicate scientific, medical, commercial, and health economic information in accordance with compliance, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collect and integrate customer feedback, connect unmet needs with internal resources, and collaborate across medical affairs, clinical development, and other functions.
  • Identify potential speakers and train them on scientific content for sponsored external speaker programs.
  • Participate in regional and national scientific conferences to support medical and clinical strategy, maintain investigator relationships, and gather competitive intelligence.
  • Evaluate and facilitate external clinical research collaborations, including investigator-initiated trials and company-sponsored trials, while monitoring treatment advances and competitor activity.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree, or a master’s degree with 3 years of Medical Affairs experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of Medical Affairs experience.
  • Preferred: Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., D.O., or another doctoral degree.
  • Preferred: 2 years of scientific or medical affairs experience at a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, networking, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% and work days of up to 15 hours when travel requires it.
  • Ability to learn new business applications and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
