Journeyman Lineman (Electric Distribution)

Location: Perryton, Texas, United States; must reside within 20 miles of the Perryton service center

Starting base pay: $53.16 per hour

What you will do

• Install, maintain, and remove overhead and underground distribution conductors and equipment.
• Perform electric distribution and transmission construction, operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Climb poles and work on energized conductors and equipment, including hot stick work on energized high-voltage conductors.
• Operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, and trenchers and perform groundwork with utility line crews.
• Respond to emergency call-outs and work in inclement weather and other demanding conditions.
• Provide safe, productive work and quality customer service while following company safety rules.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman Lineman Certification approved by the Department of Labor.
• Successful completion of the Journeyman Assessment.
• Completion of an approved apprentice line program or five years of progressive electric lineman experience.
• Class A CDL and the ability to perform strenuous physical labor, lift up to 90 pounds, pass a physical examination, security screening, and drug screening.
• Must reside within 20 miles of the Perryton, Texas service center. Availability for scheduled emergency call-outs and possible extended travel is required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of distribution primary feeders, transformer loading, fusing practices, meter sets, protective devices, grounding sets, transformers, and troubleshooting.
