DevOps Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Remote from Portugal, onsite, or hybrid in Coimbra, Portugal; availability for in-person meetings at the Coimbra office is required, at least once a month.

What you will do

• Prepare, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure across compute, networking, storage, and security services.
• Operate Kubernetes infrastructure and the GitLab CI/CD platform supporting AI/ML platforms and pipelines.
• Manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and automation with Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, and related tools.
• Improve platform and application observability, monitoring reliability, performance, cost, and operational symptoms.
• Integrate AI solutions with existing systems and services while maintaining scalable and reliable infrastructure.
• Apply ISMS requirements, security practices, secrets management, access control, and on-call operational support.

Requirements

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science or a related field.
• Solid experience operating at least one cloud environment: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong foundation in Infrastructure as Code and automation, including Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, large-scale Linux systems, and SRE/DevOps operations.
• Experience with observability and metrics using Prometheus, Grafana, Syslog, or similar tools.
• Fluency in English and flexibility for critical situations, including on-call work.

Nice to have

• AWS or Terraform certification.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines or working with MQTT infrastructure.
• Experience with distributed database systems, multi-region architectures, or microservices platforms such as Apache Kafka.
• Interest in solving infrastructure problems with open-source software.

Hiring process
