Sr. Maintenance Technician - PLC

Location: Minneapolis - Elk New Market, Minnesota, United States; onsite manufacturing environment with required on-call availability

Salary: $45.09–$63.12 per hour

What you will do

• Troubleshoot and repair 480VAC and 24VDC electrical systems, PLC hardware, frequency drives, HMIs, servomotors, controllers, communication systems, and facility equipment.
• Maintain operating systems including Allen Bradley, B&R automation, Siemens, and COPA-Data Zenon to support equipment uptime and production throughput.
• Lead root-cause analysis, preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment overhauls, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
• Develop troubleshooting SOPs and upload them to the BDA system.
• Transfer technical knowledge and train operators, mechanics, supervisors, and maintenance technicians on bottling, packaging, and injection-molding equipment.
• Support blow molding, filling and capping, labeling, packaging, palletizing, Husky injection molding, auxiliary systems, and mold maintenance.

Requirements

• Minimum six years of experience in an electrical maintenance environment and six years of experience in the position or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
• At least four years of experience managing people or projects.
• Ability to read electrical, instrumentation, process, and piping diagrams and use basic hand tools, a multimeter, and PLC hardware.
• Knowledge of RSLogix 5000, SIMATIC Step 7, FactoryTalk Studio, industrial communication systems, and PLC input/output and safety modules.
• Ability to communicate effectively across departments, lead technical training, stand or walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and maintain regular attendance.
• High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in manufacturing, mechatronics, automation, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Ten or more years of electrical maintenance or role experience.
• Experience troubleshooting Allen Bradley, B&R, or Siemens operating systems.
• Experience with Krones, Husky, Sidel, or other packaging and bottling equipment.
• Experience creating process improvements and leading the development of others.
• Knowledge of COPA-Data Zenon, SEW Motion Studios, or B&R Automation Studios.
