What you will do
- Plan and deliver lectures, seminars, and laboratory offerings in sociology for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Develop course syllabi, select instructional materials, and design exams, quizzes, papers, and other assessments.
- Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and evaluate learning outcomes.
- Use active-learning and innovative instructional methods to promote critical thinking, discussion, collaboration, and engagement.
- Provide office hours, academic guidance, feedback, and mentoring to students.
- Follow university policies, academic integrity standards, accreditation requirements, and Campus Security Authority responsibilities.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Sociology or a closely related field from an accredited university.
- At least 18 graduate hours in Sociology.
- Knowledge of sociology sufficient for undergraduate and graduate-level instruction.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty.
- Employment may be affected if immigration sponsorship is required; the university will not pay the stated H-1B petition fee.
Nice to have
- Doctorate or terminal degree in Sociology or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate hours in Sociology.
- Previous collegiate online teaching experience.
