Decision Analytics Manager

Location: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, or Osaka-shi, Japan. Hybrid work combines working from home with on-site presence at client and hirify.global offices for the majority of the week. Client-facing work requires travel as needed.

What you will do

• Lead complex research and decision analytics projects as the primary investigator.
• Develop or oversee proposals and ensure methodological soundness.
• Manage client relationships, business development, and strategy development across key accounts.
• Structure client deliverables in PowerPoint and communicate results through clear, evidence-based storytelling.
• Coordinate project execution, organize data, manage meetings, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
• Motivate, coach, and guide junior team members while contributing thought leadership and internal capability development.

Requirements

• MBA or advanced quantitative degree in operations research, applied mathematics, management science, data science, statistics, econometrics, engineering, or a related field; alternatively, a relevant PhD or sufficient management consulting experience.
• At least 7 years of post-MBA or PhD experience with strong analytical work, or 9 years of relevant management consulting experience in lieu of an MBA or PhD.
• Experience with advanced modeling techniques and tools such as R, SAS, Tableau, or VBA.
• Strong analytical problem-solving, communication, attention to detail, client service, and project management skills.
• Fluency in English and Japanese.
• Ability and willingness to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and travel for client needs.
