Adjunct Instructor - Dance/Choreography

Location: Stephenville, Texas; teaching assignments may be at the Stephenville and Fort Worth campuses or through approved instructional modalities and the online community.

What you will do

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and laboratory offerings in dance, choreography, and related areas.
• Develop course syllabi, select instructional materials, and create exams, quizzes, papers, and other assessments.
• Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and evaluate learning outcomes.
• Engage students through active learning, discussions, collaboration, critical thinking, and hands-on instruction.
• Provide academic guidance, mentoring, feedback, and office-hour support to students.
• Follow university policies, academic integrity standards, and accreditation requirements while incorporating effective teaching technologies and methods.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Dance, Choreography, or a closely related field from an accredited university.
• At least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate students and interact professionally with students, staff, and faculty.
• Successful candidates must complete a criminal history investigation and credential verification.

Nice to have

• Doctorate or terminal degree in Dance, Choreography, or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
• Previous online teaching experience at the collegiate level.

• Temporary, part-time appointments are assigned per semester on an as-needed basis for the 2025–2026 academic year sub-terms.
• Teaching may be delivered in person, through approved instructional modalities, or online according to student demand.
• Adjunct faculty may teach up to six semester credit hours and serve as a Campus Security Authority.
• The university does not pay the $100,000 fee associated with certain new H-1B petitions.
• A Texas moratorium on certain new H-1B filings may affect employment for candidates requiring future sponsorship.
