Associate Director, CMC Portfolio Management

Salary: $141,500–$268,500 per year

What you will do

• Provide advanced project management support for complex early- and mid-stage drug development programs.
• Create and maintain Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) technical plans in the Asset Management Platform, manage PPDST rosters, and develop timeline swim lanes.
• Lead PPDST meetings, drive accountability for deliverables, and develop planning scenarios with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Identify and analyze business risks, conduct root cause analyses, and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead process improvement initiatives, develop metrics and reporting tools, and manage project milestones.
• Advise project managers and PPDST Co-Chairs, provide training and guidance, and influence senior R&D leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific discipline with 10+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech experience, or a master’s degree with 8+ years, or a doctorate with 4+ years.
• 4+ years of project management experience, including leadership of cross-functional teams.
• Experience leading cross-functional and global project teams independently.
• Knowledge of drug development processes and required CMC experience.
• Advanced project management and business excellence tools, including MS Office, MS Project, QlikView, or Spotfire.
• Strong communication, presentation, influencing, negotiation, conflict management, relationship-building, and training skills.

Nice to have

• Project management or process improvement accreditation, such as Project Management Professional or Lean Six Sigma.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and managing Senior Specialists or Program Managers.
