Senior Manager, CMC Operations (Biotechnology)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid

Base compensation: $138,000–$185,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop and manage integrated external development and manufacturing plans across multiple programs and CDMOs.
• Lead operational engagement with CDMO partners across early-phase development and manufacturing.
• Coordinate technical, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, procurement, and internal functional activities.
• Establish scalable business processes, governance frameworks, standardized workflows, and execution models.
• Manage CDMO contracting, spend, partner performance, risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and schedule conflicts.
• Drive cross-functional alignment, accountability, milestone delivery, and governance reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 5 years with an MS or PhD, in biotechnology or pharmaceutical CMC development and manufacturing.
• Strong experience in early-phase CMC development and manufacturing operations.
• Expertise in external partnerships and CDMO management, including spend management.
• Ability to design and optimize business processes and operational frameworks.
• Strong cross-functional leadership, stakeholder management, organizational, and project management skills.
