MedTech Laboratory Field Service Engineer

Location: Philadelphia, PA, United States; 100% travel required, including local, regional, and national travel. Candidates must be within 1 hour of a major airport and able to travel to assignments up to 3 hours from home.

Salary: $35–45 per hour

What you will do

• Install, configure, maintain, test, and update medical devices, including laboratory diagnostic equipment.
• Provide technical support and ongoing communication to hospital staff and other customer contacts.
• Configure hardware, software, and network products and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Conduct routine product checks, record test data, and submit daily quality documentation.
• Maintain required hospital vendor credentials and keep technical knowledge current through training and technical bulletins.
• Travel to customer sites to complete repairs, maintenance, and project assignments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or technical school training in biomedical engineering, or 3–5+ years of experience repairing, maintaining, and installing laboratory medical diagnostic equipment in lieu of education.
• Required experience in biomedical, hardware, electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic repair and troubleshooting.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license, personal vehicle for local assignments, and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively, communicate professionally, and manage assignments on schedule.
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds.
• Must complete hospital credentialing and meet facility immunization requirements. Candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Background in biomedical engineering, networking, military, or field-based technician work.
• Technical experience in a healthcare environment.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and OneNote.

Culture & Benefits

• Assignment-based schedule with a guaranteed minimum of 24 hours per week and expected availability of up to 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed.
