Banking Clerk (Finance)

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom; hybrid working with 3 days in the office and 2 days at home each week. New starters initially work full-time from the office.

Salary: £28,000–£30,000 per annum, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Monitor corporate bank accounts and review daily transactions.
• Match and record bank transactions in the finance system.
• Reconcile cashbooks with bank statements and investigate reconciliation breaks.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts, cash balance analysis, and daily treasury and regulatory reports.
• Process and reconcile employee expenses, corporate cards, director-level cards, and client payments.
• Respond to finance queries, support audit requests, and contribute to month-end cash and reconciliation routines.

Requirements

• Experience in a banking, cashbook, or transactional finance role.
• Strong reconciliation skills, accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail.
• Experience with an ERP system; NetSuite or a similar system is preferred.
• Experience with an employee expense system; Emburse Professional or an equivalent is preferred.
• At least 6 GCSEs at grade C or above, including Maths and English, or equivalent.
• Ability to work methodically to deadlines in a control-driven environment.
