Traffic Modeller & Analyst (Transport Modelling)

Location: London or Leeds, England, United Kingdom. Workplace: On-site. Part-time and flexible working applications will be considered.

What you will do

• Provide analytical input and undertake multi-modal traffic modelling assessments with support from lead modellers.
• Lead project workstreams under supervision and apply best-practice modelling techniques.
• Deliver highway and transportation analysis for major developments, regeneration projects, bus priority schemes, cycle improvements, and other sustainable transport initiatives.
• Use microsimulation, junction, and tactical-level modelling tools across feasibility and detailed design stages.
• Prepare reports, proposals, briefing notes, and design reports, and present findings to clients.
• Manage sub-consultants, support staff, project tasks, budgets, and financial controls.

Requirements

• Strong analytical skills and an analytical mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in creative, multidisciplinary teams and help resolve complex design problems.
• Relevant academic qualifications or professional experience.
• Ability to take responsibility for key tasks and workstreams.
• Experience with transport modelling software such as LINSIG, VISSIM, or TRANSYT is advantageous.

Nice to have

• Ability to develop bespoke analysis using AI tools, Excel, R, Python, or similar programming languages.
• Awareness of sustainable, multi-modal highway design considerations.
• Experience with VISUM or Aimsun.
