RF Hardware Engineer, Level 6

Location: Boulder or Los Angeles, United States; expected to work in an office 4+ days per week

What you will do

• Design and develop highly integrated RF and wireless systems for Spectacles hardware launches.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, industrial design, supplier, and external engineering teams.
• Create schematics covering RF components, high-speed digital systems, power supplies, and sensors.
• Review PCB, flex, and rigid-flex layouts and design electrical and wireless prototypes.
• Develop test plans, perform RF validation, generate reports, and debug baseband and RF circuits.
• Document designs and validation results clearly and comprehensively.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of relevant experience designing integrated RF and electrical circuits and systems.
• Strong RF fundamentals, including system analysis, link budgets, impedance matching, noise figure, mixing, linearity, and Smith charts.
• Experience with RF PCB design, schematic capture, CAD layout, RF simulation, and electrical test equipment.
• Working knowledge of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, GNSS, 4G LTE, 5G, and high-speed interfaces such as MIPI, PCIe, SDIO/eMMC, and UFS.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in wireless, electromagnetics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to solder small discrete components, including 0402, 0201, and 01005 packages.
• Experience scoping integrated RF and electrical components within a single module.
