Electrical Maintenance Technician

Location: Mirfield, UK; onsite, 08:00–16:30, Monday to Friday

What you will do

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, manage SAP CMMS work orders and respond to electrical, control and instrumentation breakdowns.
• Maintain and repair electrical distribution systems, motor control centres, control panels, drives and field devices.
• Calibrate, verify and maintain process instrumentation and critical site instruments.
• Support PLC, HMI, SCADA and industrial control systems, including fault diagnosis and authorised minor modifications.
• Maintain electrical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, SOPs, calibration records and equipment documentation.
• Operate and test critical site systems, support commissioning and engineering projects, and coordinate safely with contractors.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3, a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering, instrumentation or a related discipline.
• City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and CompEx Ex01–Ex04 Gas and Ex05–Ex06 Dust qualifications.
• Experience with industrial electrical systems, process instrumentation and control systems.
• IPAF certification for MEWP operation and working knowledge of permit-to-work, electrical isolation and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Experience with PLC fault-finding; Siemens experience is preferred.
• Ability to work safely and accurately in a live, highly regulated manufacturing environment and support audits and inspections.

Nice to have

• City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent Inspection and Testing qualification.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, COMAH, ATEX or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Confined Space Entry and Standby Person training.
