TL;DR
Controls Engineer (PLC): Designing, programming, commissioning, and supporting industrial control systems and control panels for manufacturing, process, and automation environments with an accent on PLC, HMI, SCADA, VFD, and industrial networking solutions. Focus on integrating Siemens, Emerson, ABB, and Allen-Bradley platforms, implementing process-control strategies, and leading factory and site acceptance testing.
Location: 28704 Arden, North Carolina, United States; full-time onsite role

What you will do
- Design industrial control panels in line with UL 508A, UL698A, NEC, and customer standards.
- Create panel layouts, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials using CAD, EPLAN, ERP, or similar tools.
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs across Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Emerson, and ABB platforms.
- Build HMI and SCADA applications and implement PID loops, sequencing, interlocks, alarms, and safety functions.
- Configure and troubleshoot industrial networks and integrate PLCs with SCADA, MES, and third-party automation equipment.
- Lead factory and site acceptance testing, customer-site commissioning, startup troubleshooting, and performance validation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline, or equivalent education and relevant experience.
- At least 3 years of industrial automation or controls engineering experience.
- Hands-on programming and troubleshooting experience with multiple PLC platforms.
- Experience developing HMI/SCADA applications and troubleshooting electrical and automation systems.
- CAD experience with tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
- Knowledge of electrical safety and lockout/tagout procedures.
