Special Servicing Specialist (Commercial Banking)

What you will do

• Contact borrowers by telephone and letter to obtain payments and bring past-due accounts or loan obligations current.
• Document calls, payment arrangements, letters, and other collection actions in the system of record.
• Follow collection scripts and use tactful negotiation, probing, and persuasion techniques with customers.
• Locate customers and assets through skip-tracing methods when contact has been lost.
• Apply contract-based collection methods when initial attempts do not secure payment.
• Make a minimum of 15 calls per hour while maintaining punctuality, attendance, confidentiality, and compliance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of customer service experience.
• At least 1 year of computer experience, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and municipal collection laws, including the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.
• Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, problem-solving, multitasking, and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially, work under pressure, and respond professionally and promptly.

Nice to have

• Prior collections or call center experience.
• Knowledge of general banking principles and Microsoft Outlook.
