M365 Engineer (Microsoft 365)

What you will do

• Own the technical strategy, target-state architecture, governance standards, and multi-year roadmap for the Microsoft 365 platform.
• Serve as the accountable technical authority for Exchange Online, Outlook, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams collaboration, OneDrive, tenant administration, and related productivity services.
• Lead governance, security, support, administration, incident management, and service improvement through managed service partners and Microsoft.
• Direct major migrations, feature rollouts, integrations, and modernization initiatives from design through hypercare.
• Automate and standardize administration using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and Microsoft administrative tooling.
• Coordinate with IT Security, Infrastructure, Endpoint, Service Desk, Workplace Platforms, Power Platform, business stakeholders, vendors, and Microsoft.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years supporting Microsoft messaging, collaboration, and productivity platforms at large enterprise scale.
• Deep hands-on expertise with Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and tenant administration.
• Experience building technical strategies and multi-year roadmaps, managing service delivery through providers, and holding partners accountable to SLAs and outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of email security, Entra ID, Active Directory, authentication, SSO, retention, encryption, compliance, DNS, SMTP, IP addressing, certificates, and secure connectivity.
• Advanced PowerShell and Microsoft Graph skills, together with strong analytical, planning, communication, and stakeholder-management abilities.

Nice to have

• Microsoft certifications in Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, security, compliance, identity, or endpoint administration.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview, Defender for Office 365, Intune, Entra ID, and Azure app registrations.
• Experience leading Microsoft 365 migrations, transformation programs, or large-scale service-improvement initiatives.
• Experience with monitoring, reporting, and analytics tools for service health, adoption, security posture, and operational performance.
• Familiarity with Teams Rooms, Teams Phone, and enterprise voice integration with Microsoft 365.
