Principal Reliability Engineer (Semiconductor Equipment)

What you will do

• Monitor semiconductor equipment reliability and field performance in production environments.
• Analyze tool-to-tool variation and correlate equipment parameters, environmental conditions, maintenance events, alarms, and equipment states with wafer-level performance.
• Conduct structured root-cause investigations using 8D, fault-tree, Fishbone, Pareto, DOE, SPC, and FMEA methodologies.
• Support new tool introduction, installation, qualification, and production ramp.
• Develop data-driven recommendations for product improvements and next-generation equipment designs.
• Improve test methods, customer experience, and equipment integration processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, systems, or manufacturing engineering, physics, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 3 years with a Master’s degree, or a PhD without experience; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Direct experience working in a semiconductor fab environment.
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and production processes.
• Experience with equipment performance, reliability, or manufacturing yield data, including data analysis, statistical methods, and structured problem-solving.
• Knowledge of SPC, GR&R, DOE, FMEA, Weibull analysis, equipment interfaces, logs, alarms, sensors, and trace data.

Nice to have

• Experience developing automated dashboards or analytical tools with Python, MATLAB, SQL, Power BI, or similar tools.
• Experience with yield management and correlating equipment parameters with wafer-level performance.
