What you will do
- Implement and manage security controls across Microsoft SQL Server instances.
- Configure and maintain encryption, auditing, least-privilege access, and role-based permissions.
- Integrate SQL Server logs with SIEM platforms such as Splunk and investigate anomalous activity, unauthorized access, and potential data exfiltration.
- Harden database configurations using CIS Benchmarks and Microsoft best practices, collaborating with infrastructure and application teams on remediation.
- Support compliance audits, data classification, retention policies, and security evidence management.
- Automate security tasks and reporting with PowerShell, T-SQL, and other scripting tools while optimizing security-related processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Significant experience administering SQL Server with a focus on database security.
- Deep expertise in SQL Server security features, including TDE, auditing, and Always Encrypted.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory integration and Kerberos authentication.
- Experience with SIEM integration, vulnerability scanning tools such as Qualys, and compliance reporting.
- Proficiency in PowerShell, T-SQL, and scripting for automation, along with strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- GIAC Certified Database Security Professional (GDBA).
