Application Architect

Location: On-site at the Financial Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; candidates must be local or willing to relocate to the area.

What you will do

• Design end-to-end application architectures, logical, physical, and reference architectures, process flows, data flow diagrams, and solution blueprints.
• Standardize implementation practices and align application architecture with business capabilities across multiple lines of business.
• Monitor system health, review logs and reports, design performance metrics, and proactively improve application performance.
• Identify, resolve, and prevent complex reliability, capacity, integration, hardware, software, database, and application performance issues.
• Lead application platform planning, application changes, upgrades, and architecture decisions in collaboration with Technology, the Project Management Office, business partners, vendors, and senior management.
• Coordinate team work, assign tasks, support performance management, and act as a liaison for vendors and consultants.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 7 years of technology experience supporting a variety of applications.
• Advanced knowledge of application administration, processes, operations, and root-cause analysis for hardware, software, and databases.
• Ability to design application architecture and use diagramming tools such as Draw.io, Visio, or similar.
• Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, customer service, and technology project management skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; employment-based visa sponsorship is not provided.
• On-site work in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is required.

Nice to have

• Strong SQL, SSIS, SQL Server, and data modeling experience.
• Knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of Java architecture, API and integration patterns, SSO, SAML, and identity and access management.
• Understanding of AI/ML solution patterns and experience in financial domains, governance, risk, compliance, finance, accounting, HR, or treasury.
• Advanced training and certification in the application domain.
