Clinical Assistant Inpatient Per Diem (Days) (Oncology)

Location: 300 Mount Auburn St, Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; 100% onsite

Salary: $50,000.00–$62,853.73 per year

What you will do

• Provide basic direct care and daily living support to adult oncology inpatients under the direction of a registered or licensed nurse.
• Assist with hygiene, bathing, toileting, dressing, mobility, feeding, positioning, ambulation, admission, discharge, and safe patient transport.
• Collect and record vital signs, pulse oximetry, blood pressure, blood glucose, ECGs, intake and output, bladder scans, and specimens.
• Prepare and maintain patient-care equipment and a clean, safe environment while following infection-prevention and hand-hygiene practices.
• Perform hourly rounding, respond to patient and family requests, support safe patient handling, and report safety concerns or changes in patient status.
• Document care in the electronic medical record, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and support training and mentoring of new Clinical Assistants.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified nursing assistant credential required upon hire, unless the candidate is a nursing student who has completed fundamentals of nursing with a clinical component.
• Basic Life Support or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross required upon hire.
• Knowledge of English sufficient for accurate reading, speaking, and writing.
• Basic computer and math skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to safely lift and transport patients using approved techniques.
• Ability to work onsite in Cambridge and maintain direct, continuous contact with adult oncology patients and families.
