Maintenance Mechanic

What you will do

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, tools, and buildings.
• Assist with repairs to woodworking machinery, infeed and outfeed systems, hand tools, and forklifts.
• Order required parts and supplies and maintain repair and maintenance records.
• Prepare required reports and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Follow established safety procedures and participate in safety, continuous improvement, and department meetings.
• When assigned to the Treating Department, handle hazardous waste and hazardous materials according to established procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• At least 1 year of experience repairing machines in a maintenance setting.
• Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, as well as welding.
• Knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Working knowledge of hazardous waste and hazardous-material handling procedures.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
