Director - Strategic Pricing (AI-Enabled Legal Services)

Location: Boston, United States

Salary: $225,000–$300,000 per year, varying by location and experience.

What you will do

• Lead pricing strategy for assigned practice and industry groups, from individual matter estimates to complex multi-jurisdictional engagements and panel arrangements.
• Design, negotiate, and manage alternative fee arrangements, including fixed, capped, phased, success-based, blended-rate, portfolio, and hybrid models.
• Advise partners and practice group leaders on pitches, RFPs, renewals, panel bids, repricing, matter scoping, and client value.
• Monitor matter profitability, identify scope creep, maintain benchmarks, and lead post-matter reviews.
• Develop AI-enabled pricing models, automation, pricing tools, and data-driven approaches for legal services.
• Lead and develop a team of Pricing managers and analysts while contributing to firm-wide pricing methodology and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in senior pricing, commercial finance, or legal operations, ideally in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Demonstrated success designing, negotiating, and managing alternative fee arrangements.
• Experience advising senior stakeholders, including partners, C-suite clients, or equivalent.
• Strong experience building pricing models, financial analyses, commercial proposals, and Excel-based financial models.
• Experience with legal technology, AI-enabled workflows, pricing tools, or technology-enabled legal services is advantageous.
• Strong commercial judgment, communication, relationship-building, and people leadership skills.
