DoW SkillBridge Fellowship - Business Operations Specialist I (Security Operations)

Location: Pensacola, Florida, United States — on-site

Estimated full-time salary: $41,000–$60,000 annually. DoW/DoD SkillBridge participants are not compensated by Navy Federal and continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.

What you will do

• Support the Security Systems Support team in maintaining branch, microsite, and campus security operations.
• Assist with issuing, activating, modifying, and deactivating system and physical access.
• Monitor operational processes and quality control for compliance with regulations, policies, and industry practices.
• Gather, research, synthesize, and present operational data through reports, charts, summaries, and recommendations.
• Support user requirements, system testing, staff training, program maintenance, audits, and policy reviews.
• Contribute to cross-functional initiatives involving fraud prevention, scam defense, security technology, risk management, and operational resilience.

Requirements

• Eligibility is limited to transitioning service members participating in the DoW/DoD SkillBridge program.
• Ability to follow and interpret instructions, procedures, regulations, and organizational policies.
• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
• Demonstrated data-gathering, organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Progressively responsible experience in operational support methods and procedures, preferably within a financial institution.
• Ability to manage changing priorities, collaborate across teams, and influence without direct authority.

Nice to have

• Experience or knowledge of credit union or retail banking operations.
• Knowledge of Navy Federal’s organization, operations, policies, products, and services.
• Education beyond high school in business or a related field.
• Background as an Intelligence Specialist, Operations Specialist, Watch Officer, or Joint Operations Center specialist.
