Principal Quality Operations Specialist (Welding)

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; onsite project role

What you will do

• Develop and maintain project and contract quality plans, procedures, inspection and test plans, and quality records.
• Coordinate QA/QC activities across design, procurement, fabrication, supplier surveillance, construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Manage welding quality activities, including WPS/PQR development, welder qualifications, production test plates, filler-material controls, NDE coordination, and PWHT requirements.
• Lead site inspections, audits, training, quality dossier preparation, and coordination with client inspection personnel.
• Identify, process, and resolve non-conformances, including client approvals and prevention of recurrence.
• Advise project teams and coordinate internal, supplier, subcontractor, and client quality requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Technology, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering with a welding emphasis, or Materials Science; equivalent welding-related education and experience may be considered.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience, including 5 years as a Project Quality Manager.
• Working knowledge of welding engineering and NDE methods including VT, MT, PT, SFT, and RT.
• Comprehensive knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards, including ASME, API, ASTM, AWWA, and AWS requirements.
• Understanding of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, ISO 9001 quality management systems, risk assessment, problem solving, and electronic document management.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, prioritization, and team-management skills.

• ISO 9001:2015 Internal or Lead Auditor certification.
