Production Planner (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain master production schedules based on demand forecasts, customer orders, inventory strategies, and operational capacity.
• Translate sales forecasts and firm orders into executable production plans while balancing labor, materials, equipment, and other constraints.
• Sequence production orders to reduce changeovers, downtime, and waste.
• Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Procurement, and Manufacturing to resolve scheduling conflicts and communicate risks.
• Align production plans with supplier lead times, inventory targets, and material availability.
• Track planning KPIs, identify root causes of disruptions, and support lean and system optimization initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–7 years of experience in production planning, master scheduling, or manufacturing supply chain.
• Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or JD Edwards.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and scenario analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to balance competing priorities, make tradeoff decisions, maintain data accuracy, and influence without direct authority.

Nice to have

• APICS/ASCM certification such as CPIM or CSCP.
• Experience supporting S&OP or IBP processes.
• Experience in multi-product, variable-demand manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
