Location: Gallatin College, Montana State University; on-site classroom and fabrication shop duties in Montana. The position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Salary: $1,300 per credit.

What you will do

  • Provide non-tenure-track instruction for the Welding Technology program.
  • Demonstrate welding techniques and correct improper welding and machine-use practices.
  • Identify safety hazards, instruct students in safe equipment operation, and provide emergency medical assistance when needed.
  • Maintain fabrication-shop equipment, tools, consumables, and reorder inventories.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and emotionally safe blended learning environment for high school and college students.
  • Follow procedures for opening and closing the facility and communicate effectively with learners, colleagues, and department stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Certificate of Applied Science in Welding Technology with a cumulative program GPA of at least 3.00.
  • Current employment in welding manufacturing, fabrication, or another applied-welding sector in the western half of the United States.
  • Industry credentials such as NCCER, SENSE, AWS, API, or ASME.
  • Ability to demonstrate welding techniques to students with varied skill levels.
  • Experience working with and engaging students and colleagues within and outside the department.
  • Professional, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Four-year degree in an appropriate field.
  • Prior teaching experience.
  • Understanding of the two-year college mission.
  • Commitment to student, faculty, and staff enrichment.
