Progress OpenEdge Developer (Industrial IoT)

Location: Remote from Mexico

Salary: 80,000 MXN per month before taxes, plus negotiable benefits

What you will do

• Design, develop, enhance, maintain, and support business-critical applications built on Progress OpenEdge 10.2B and Progress ABL/4GL.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and functional solutions.
• Review and modify complex legacy code while maintaining application stability.
• Troubleshoot runtime and compile errors, database connectivity issues, integrations, performance problems, and functionality defects.
• Collaborate with business analysts, functional teams, stakeholders, and globally distributed development teams.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployments, release management, SDLC activities, and modernization initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on Progress OpenEdge development experience.
• Strong experience with Progress OpenEdge 10.2B and Progress ABL/4GL.
• Experience with MFGPRO and/or QAD ERP applications and enterprise-scale production systems.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, database connectivity, integration, and application support skills.
• Experience with version control, release management, SDLC methodologies, and software engineering best practices.
• Applicants must be based in Mexico; advanced spoken and written English is required for offshore positions, while fluent spoken and written Spanish is required for onshore positions.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or ERP-driven environments.
• Exposure to application modernization and system integration initiatives.
• Experience working in Agile and hybrid development environments.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
