Medical Director, Cardiology

Location: Home-based in the United States; periodic regional and international travel required.

Salary: $154,900–$431,500 annualized base pay.

What you will do

• Serve as a global or regional medical advisor and scientific advisor on assigned clinical research projects.
• Support investigative sites and project staff with protocol clarifications, inclusion and exclusion decisions, patient safety, and eligibility issues.
• Review protocols, Investigator Drug Brochures, Case Report Forms, adverse events, serious adverse events, coding, Clinical Study Reports, and patient narratives.
• Provide cardiology and therapeutic-area training and participate in investigator, kick-off, project, and client meetings.
• Develop medically sound delivery strategies for complex multi-region studies and contribute to client proposals, budgets, and bid defenses.
• Provide medical and scientific consultation during business development activities and travel periodically for regional and international engagements.

Requirements

• Board certification in Cardiology and a medical degree from an accredited, internationally recognized medical school.
• At least five years of clinical medicine experience after residency and typically five to seven years of relevant cardiology experience.
• Clinical research experience as an investigator or within the pharmaceutical, CRO, or biotechnology industry.
• Experience in Phase I–IV clinical development and a current or prior license to practice medicine.
• Strong scientific, clinical, regulatory, commercial, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Good command of spoken and written English required.

Nice to have

• Prior cardiology experience with exposure to metabolic disease indications.
• Experience authoring publications related to industry developments.
